Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Cream: Serious Facts Revealed

Like many women, I would love to stop the aging process. But surgery is an absolute last resort; I’m just not fanatical or brave enough to go under the knife. So I spend my time looking for more economical, less invasive ways to look beautiful and this time, I’m looking at anti-wrinkle creams – Hydroxatone’s AM/PM cream, to be precise.

Anti-wrinkle creams have been on the market for several generations, and sometimes it’s tough to cut through the hyperbole. There are so many reviews of the Hydroxatone AM/PM anti-wrinkle cream available on the internet, many of which seemed dubious and perhaps written by people employed to write positive or negative reviews. That’s why I wanted to give a real Hydroxatone AM/PM review, including the pros and the cons.

What is the Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Cream?

The cream is a moisturizer that, according to the manufacturer, is designed to hydrate the skin and soften the appearance of wrinkles (whether visible wrinkles, crow’s feet like mine or facial lines) by stimulating the skin’s production of collagen.

It uses Matrixyl 3000, which boosts the natural levels of anti-aging nutrient hyaluronic acid, collagen and fibronectin to anchor cells to collagen – all required for fresh, young-looking skin. It also combines Argireline anti-aging peptides and hyaluronic acid, which hydrates the skin and decreases the appearance of wrinkles.

The formula also contains many natural extracts that are associated with skin care and anti-aging, such as extracts of licorice root, bearberry and algae.

Using the cream

Before I give my overall opinion, it’s important to share my expectations with my readers. My main problem is fine lines around the eyes and overall a rather dry complexion. I’m also quite concerned about sun damage, so need a good SPF in my products. So basically, I’m on the hunt for a great moisturizer that’s not too greasy, that hydrates my skin, that has sunscreen and that improves the lines around my eyes. A tall order for any dermatologist!

I had read rather mixed reviews of the Hydroxatone AM/PM anti-wrinkle cream prior to my trial, so was keen to try it out for myself and find out whether it was the all-in-one product that I’d been looking for.

The packaging is sophisticated and has a classic look to it, and although the price is $80 for just an ounce, I found that a little goes a long way. I was so glad that it had a super-easy application; after cleansing the skin and toning, I just massaged into the face and neck in an upward motion, twice a day when I could. I’m really not a big fan of muslins and products that you have to apply, wait and wash-off, so this was perfect for a relatively low maintenance beauty fan like me.

Although it’s designed for crow’s feet, like any cream, you want to keep it away from the eyes themselves. But I had no issues with sensitivity; on the contrary, it relaxed my skin unlike some other name brands that have irritated it. Overall, it had a lovely silken feel that was easily absorbed and actually formed a great base for my make-up.

I used the product twice a day for around a month, but started to see slight results very early on. My skin felt softer from the collagen, which almost instantly started to plump out some of the lines around my eyes. After 2 weeks, I was seeing the same results as with my old faithful but temporary eye primer; the skin around my eyes and forehead was smoother and softer, which was even more obvious when I saw photographs of myself.

I’m quite sure that with extended use over several months, anyone with fine lines will see a clear difference to their skin tone and a significant reduction in visible wrinkles.

What’s great about the Hydroxatone AM/PM anti-wrinkle cream?

  • Noticeable results; improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles
  • Non greasy, great under make-up
  • Easy to use, no lengthy regime
  • A little goes a long way
  • Good for sensitive skin
  • Great all-in-one: day moisturizer, night moisturizer, SPF and anti-aging cream

Any downsides to the product?

  • Less of an impact on deeper wrinkles
  • Comparable with other dermatologist/luxury brand prices (but cheaper on Amazon)
  • Shipping costs can add on a lot if you’re outside of the US
  • SPF 15 may be low for those with very fair skin

What are people saying about Hydroxatone AM/PM anti-wrinkle cream?

“I love, love, love this product! My skin feels amazing and I get compliments often about how young I look and I am 40!” Tiff, Thornton, Colorado

“I’m 49. I felt the difference in my skin tone after 1 week. It seems to give a “glow” as well. I have very sensitive skin.” Jenbrink, Cincinatti

“On the down side it’s a little pricey, but I will definitely use again.” Limeygirl, Colorado

“It’s lightweight, smells nice and goes on really easy. The jar last a long time for me. The only down side is I wish it had a stronger SPF.” Bambi, Top 1000 contributor, Skinstore.com

“I have been using this product for almost one year and find that it does help to reduce the vertical lines above the mouth. I find very good prices on Amazon.com.” James S Fordyce, Amazon reviewer

“I have tried many creams claiming to reduce wrinkles and improve the condition of the face. This is by far the best. Does what is says it will.” Jessica Blue, Farmington, NH

My personal review of Hydroxatone AM/PM anti-wrinkle cream

I’ve spent a lot of money over the years on day moisturizers, night moisturizers, sunscreens and anti-wrinkle products, some of which work well but all of which become a bit laborious to use individually. The Hydroxatone AM/PM cream combines everything I need into one cream, and delivers visible results, quickly. A little pot of magic, and well worth the investment.

And the best place to buy it?

I would always recommend buying directly from the manufacturer to be covered by product guarantees, shipping insurance and returns policies.

After having seen all the hype and the blah blah I was of course seduced by the promises it made. Well even after the first application i could feel it sinking into my skin, much more than even many of the really expensive creams. You could almost feel it at work!
Skin is looking fresh and i think that by using the exfoliating brush to remove the dead cells, the effects wil be even more beneficial. Stay tuned for a report after one week! It is exciting!

I love hydroxytone, but I don not like the fact that their neck cream nor the am/pm creams state where they are made, instead only say they are distributed in NJ, that usually means they are made in China. Also, I believe it is law that they list the country they are manufactured.
